On Monday (10-24-22), Gorman Bros. Lumber Ltd. announced it was making a small reduction to its workforce at its West Kelowna, BC, sawmill facility. The layoffs are a result of industry-wide challenges in sourcing timber supplies, the company says.
According to Nick Arkle, Gorman’s CEO, the layoffs impacted 11 employees at the mill. Prior to the layoffs, it employed just under 300 people.
