US Wood Pellet Exports Increase Month-Over-Month and Year-Over-Year in October
USDA: US Pellet Exports At 835,553 Metric Tons In October
The US exported 835,552.7 metric tons of wood pellets in October, up from 796,988 metric tons in September and from 750,997.7 metric tons in October 2022, according to analysis of data from the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agriculture Service by Biomass Magazine (12-6-23).
The US exported wood pellets to approximately 17 countries in October. The UK was the top destination for US wood pellet exports at 476,743.7 metric tons, followed by the Netherlands at 125,978.3 metric tons and Japan at 119,128.0 metric tons.
The value of US wood pellet exports was $155.47 million in October, up from $147.53 million in September and $132.29 million in October 2022.
Total US wood pellet exports for the first ten months of 2023 reached 7.88 million metric tons at a value of $1.45 billion, compared to 7.38 million metric tons at a value of $1.28 billion during the same period in 2022.
