US Wood Pellet Exports Increase in June
USDA: Wood pellet exports top 946,522 metric tons in June
The US exported 946,522.4 metric tons of wood pellets in June, up nearly 8% from 879,590.7 metric tons in May and up ~28% from June 2025, a Biomass Magazine review of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to more than 20 countries in June. The top destinations were the UK at 678,674.4 metric tons, followed by Japan at 131,024 metric tons and France at 31,400 metric tons.
The value of US wood pellet exports was $181.04 million in June, up 11% from May and up 26% from June 2025.
Total wood pellet exports for the first six months of 2026 reached 4.44 million metric tons at a value of $1.04 billion, compared with 4.85 million metric tons valued at $932.13 million during the same period last year.
