US Wood Pellet Exports Increase in July

The US exported more than 1.08 million metric tons of wood pellets in July, up 15% from June and up 11% from July 2025, a Biomass Magazine review (9-10-26) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to more than 20 countries in July. The top destinations were the UK at 704,625.7 metric tons, followed by Japan at 169,769 metric tons and the French West Indies at 50,565.8 metric tons.

The value of US wood pellet exports was $212.26 million in July, up 17% from June and up 17% from July 2025.

Total wood pellet exports for the first seven months of 2026 reached 6.52 million metric tons at a value of $1.25 billion, compared with 5.82 million metric tons valued at $1.11 billion during the same period last year.
