UPM Plywood Concludes Change Negotiations in Finland

On Tuesday, UPM Plywood announced that it has concluded the change negotiations that were launched in April in UPM Plywood’s business organization, business functions, and global functions in Finland.

UPM says that the aim of the negotiations has been to safeguard the competitiveness of UPM Plywood business in a challenging operating environment by improving the efficiency and profitability of operations. The aim is also to develop UPM Plywood operating model to support organizational renewal, and to provide opportunities for job rotation and skills development.

Approximately 100 senior salaried and directors were included in the scope of the negotiations. As a result, a reduction of nine positions will take place. In addition, the plan will lead to changes to the organization of work, job descriptions, and job locations within the organization.

UPM will be offering support to those affected by personnel reductions. Change security includes services and training aimed at re-employment.
