UPM Announces Temporary Curtailments at Finnish Pulp Mills

On Thursday, UPM announced that its Kaukas pulp mill in Finland will be temporarily shut down beginning August 3 for approximately six weeks, citing current market conditions and cost environments.

The company also said it is planning a potential temporary shutdown of its Pietarsaari pulp mill in October.

According to UPM, the curtailments are intended to optimize production levels and wood sourcing while helping ensure profitability under current market and cost conditions.
