Pfeifer Group Announces Upgrades to Its Sawmill in Uelzen, Germany

Pfeifer Group recently announced two major projects aimed at advancing resource conservation and a functioning circular economy.

A state-of-the-art sawing line and a new waste wood recycling plant are being launched at its long-established site in Uelzen, Germany. Both initiatives are part of a broader investment package designed to secure and sustainably develop the location over the long term.

Pfeifer said that it has long committed to utilizing 100% of its raw wood material and is now taking that commitment a step further. The new recycling facility will process regional Class A1 and A2 waste wood into pressboard pallet blocks. This will help extend the life cycle of wood products and prolong carbon storage, reducing emissions. Meanwhile, the modernized sawmill will boost efficiency and improve raw material yield.

Commenting on the projects, Pfeifer Group CTO Clemens Pfeifer said:

“The modernization follows a coherent concept for site development. Pfeifer is committed to Uelzen—and with the waste wood plant and the new sawmill, the site is now ideally positioned for the future.”
