Koskisen Invests in Its Sawmill in Järvelä, Finland

Finland-based Koskisen Oyj announced that it is increasing production at its new sawmill in Järvelä, raising output from the current 400,000 m3 toward 450,000 m3.

To support higher sawn timber volumes, the company is investing in new channel dryers that will expand drying capacity by about 15%. The investment will also improve product quality.

Over the past five years, approximately €80 million has been invested in the Järvelä sawmill and its related operations. At its current production level, the sawmill is targeted to improve EBITDA by about €8 million annually. Roughly two-thirds of that target has already been achieved, alongside €1.4 million in annual savings from reduced logistics costs.

The new channel dryers are scheduled for completion in summer 2026. Part of the investment will also replace drying capacity that has reached the end of its lifecycle.
