Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Rise Year-Over-Year in July
According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) totaled $305.9 million in July, a 1.5% year-over-year increase from $301.4 million in July 2024.
Pine sawnwood exports increased 5.0% in value, from $59.3 million in July 2024 to $62.3 million in July. Export volume rose 16.0% over the same period, from 228,600 m3 to 265,200 m3.
Tropical sawnwood exports rose 15.0% in volume, from 25,000 m3 to 28,800 m3. In value, exports increased 2.6%, from $11.4 million to $11.7 million.
Pine plywood exports increased 3.5% in value, from $59.2 million in July 2024 to $61.3 million in July. Export volume climbed 14.0% over the same period, from 170,800 m3 to 194,700 m3.
Tropical plywood exports increased 47.0% in volume, from 1,900 m3 to 2,800 m3, and 64.0% in value, from $1.1 million to $1.8 million.
The value of wooden furniture exports increased 11.5% year-over-year, from $48.6 million in July 2024 to $54.2 million in July.
