Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Fall in May

According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) totaled $284.8 million in May, a 3.5% decrease from $295.0 million in May 2025.

Pine sawnwood exports rose 14.0% in value, from $55.7 million in May 2025 to $63.6 million. Export volume rose 17.0% over the same period, from 236,000 m3 to 275,100 m3.

Tropical sawnwood exports fell 9.5% in volume, from 33,700 m3 to 30,500 m3. In value, exports rose 4.0%, from $13.8 million to $14.4 million.

Pine plywood exports fell 6.0% in value, from $66.4 million in May 2025 to $62.4 million. Export volume fell 6.0%, from 209,800 m3 to 196,300 m3.

Tropical plywood exports rose 18.0% in volume, from 2,800 m3 to 3,300 m3, and rose 12.0% in value, from $1.7 million to $1.9 million.

Wooden furniture exports fell 10.0% year-over-year, from $55.1 million in May 2025 to $49.7 million in May.
