Brazilian Exports of Wood-Based Products Decrease in February
According to the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), Brazilian exports of wood-based products (excluding pulp and paper) totaled US$278.6 million in February, down 8.5% from $304.5 million in February 2024.
Pine sawnwood exports rose 21% in value, from $55.6 million in February 2024 to $67.5 million in February 2025. Export volume increased 15% over the same period, from 248,500 m3 to 285,100 m3.
Tropical sawnwood exports declined slightly in volume, down 0.5% from 21,000 m3 to 20,900 m3. The value of exports fell 18%, from $10.4 million to $8.5 million.
Pine plywood exports edged up 0.2% in value, from $57.5 million in February 2024 to $57.6 million in February 2025. Volume rose just over 3%, from 180,300 m3 to 186,400 m3.
Tropical plywood exports increased significantly, with volume up 28%, from 1,000 m3 to 1,300 m3, and value up 30%, from $1.8 million to $2.3 million.
Wooden furniture exports increased in value, from $45.8 million in February 2024 to $46.3 million in February 2025—an increase of 1%.
