Expo 2025 Osaka Concludes After Showcasing a Vision for a Greener Building Future

The six-month Expo 2025 Osaka officially concluded on October 13, CGTN reported (10-13-25). The Expo Association said 158 countries and regions, along with seven international organizations, participated in the event, which drew more than 25 million visitors.

On the eve of the closing, the China Pavilion received the gold award for exhibition design among large self-built pavilions from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

The Expo’s most iconic landmark, the Grand Ring, was recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest timber structure in the world. The circular design provided shaded walkways below and panoramic views above, serving as both a symbol of sustainable design and a practical guide across the site.

Japan’s Pavilion, built from cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels, was designed for disassembly and reuse in future construction projects throughout the country.
