JPMorganChase to Deploy $750 Billion Through 2035 to Expand US Housing Supply
On Monday, JPMorganChase announced plans to deploy more than $750 billion through 2035 to increase US housing supply and support homeownership. The commitment represents a nearly 40% increase from the firm’s housing capital deployment over the past decade.
The initiative includes financing for 1 million affordable housing units and helping 500,000 homebuyers purchase homes. It forms part of JPMorganChase’s American Dream Initiative, a multiyear effort to expand economic opportunity through targeted investments in local communities.
JPMorganChase said it will deepen collaboration with policymakers and community partners to advance state and local housing solutions, including streamlined zoning, updated building codes, permitting reforms, expanded tax credits, and public-private partnerships.
Michelle Herrick, head of commercial real estate for J.P. Morgan, said:
“An affordable and resilient housing market is essential to driving economic growth and increasing opportunity. We’re focused on helping more people access quality housing they can afford—and we’re working across the real estate community, local governments, and nonprofits to scale housing solutions throughout the US.”
