Fire at Roseburg Forest Products Raised to 3 Alarms
On Monday, the Medford Oregon Fire Department responded to a fire at the Roseburg Forest Products MDF mill located on North Pacific Hwy in Medford, Oregon, The Wild Coast Compass reported (8-27-24).
Fire crews reported a significant amount of smoke and flames coming from the press house of the facility, prompting a third alarm due to the complex construction features of the building.
The escalation to a third alarm prompted many surrounding fire departments into positions to assist and maintain adequate staffing in Jackson County for other potential calls.
All units were released from the scene before midnight, and though the cause of the fire has been determined to be accidental, the specific origin remains under investigation in cooperation with facility staff.
Roseburg Forest Products has not yet issued a statement about damages to the mill or its current production status.
