On Wednesday, Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) said it had received a 72-hour strike notice from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Canadian Signals and Communications System Council No. 11, which represents approximately 300 signals and communications employees across Canada.
The IBEW has indicated it intends to begin a strike at 8:00 AM MDT on Sunday, May 31. Negotiations are expected to continue through the weekend.
CPKC said it has prepared contingency plans that would allow the railroad to continue operations should a work stoppage occur.
