BTG Pactual TIG Acquires Jamestown’s Timberland Platform

BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group (BTG Pactual TIG) recently announced the acquisition of approximately 90,000 acres of US timberland formerly managed by Jamestown, a global real estate investment and management firm.

The portfolio spans five US states, including about 50,000 acres of pine timberland in Georgia and Alabama and about 40,000 acres of diversified hardwood timberland across Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York. All properties are certified under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).

The Jamestown timberland platform will be integrated into BTG Pactual TIG’s core US timberland strategy portfolio, increasing that portfolio to more than 1.7 million acres. Globally, the firm manages 3.3 million acres.

BTG Pactual TIG said the transaction creates additional opportunities to scale conservation outcomes through its long-term collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, which serves as conservation advisor to the firm’s core US timberland strategy.

As part of the transaction, BTG Pactual TIG will also add two forestry professionals from Jamestown to support operational continuity and local expertise across the portfolio.
