Ken is a Partner at FEA, focused on PricePulse, where he collects lumber and panel prices and provides market commentary that gives clients timely, grounded insight into current market conditions.
He joined FEA in 2015, bringing decades of firsthand lumber-market experience that began with trading lumber in 1985.
Prior to joining FEA, Ken spent more than 25 years as an analyst and Executive Editor of Crow’s Weekly Market Report and The Forest Industry Journal. Through that work, he developed a widely recognized voice among forest products professionals and a deep understanding of lumber and panel markets. He is also an author and speaker on the industry.
Born and raised in Oregon, Ken grew up in a large family of lumbermen, loggers, and foresters. He often describes himself as a “lumber brat,” shaped by firsthand exposure to the policies, economics, and personal realities of the forest products industry.
Outside of work, Ken is a US Coast Guard-licensed captain who delivers yachts along the US and Canadian west coasts.
