Stora Enso today (10-7-22) inaugurated its new manufacturing site for the production of cross-laminated timber (CLT) in Ždírec, Czech Republic. The new site is in full support of Stora Enso’s strategy of growth within wooden building solutions. With the decision made in 2020 and an investment of EUR 79 million, the new CLT project proceeded according to plan. Production was scheduled and started on-time in 2022Q3. When fully operational, the site will have an estimated annual production capacity of approximately 120,000 m3.

Including the Ždírec site, Stora Enso will have a total capacity of 490,000 m3. Ždírec is Stora Enso’s fourth production unit for CLT, following Bad St. Leonhard and Ybbs in Austria and Gruvön in Sweden.
