International Timber & Veneer to Close Its Production Facility in Jackson Center, PA
Media Statement
International Timber & Veneer (ITV) has announced that it will cease operations at its production facility in Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, this summer.
Founded in 1997, ITV has specialized in custom-sliced hardwood face veneer for its affiliated trading companies—R. Ulrich & Co. and International Veneer Company (IVC South Hill)—as well as for veneer traders worldwide.
The company cited a range of factors behind the decision. In addition to challenges such as skilled labor shortages, rising labor costs, and surging prices for equipment and production supplies, ITV said global economic and trade developments in 2025 were particularly decisive.
ITV said increasingly unpredictable customs policies, a strained international trade environment, and especially China’s import ban on American logs have made raw material procurement highly uncertain. Given these conditions, ITV said it no longer sees a sustainable long-term path for continued operations.
