Fire Reported at Weyerhaeuser’s Buckhannon, West Virigina, Facility

Update: In a statement to FEA, Weyerhaeuser confirmed that the mill was back up and running on Wednesday, September 28th.

Monday evening, several local fire departments responded to a fire burning at Weyerhaeuser’s Buckhannon, West Virigina, engineered lumber facility, according to reporting by My Buckhannon (9-26-23). Weyerhaeuser has its own internal fire brigade at the facility, and the fire was contained quickly. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. According to My Buckhannon, Mayor Robie Skinner said on social media that no one was injured in the fire.
