Vicksburg Forest Products Announces Expansion in Response to Market Opportunities

Vicksburg Forest Products, located in Vicksburg Mississippi, has announced it will be expanding its facility in response to market opportunities and to accommodate new customers. According to the Vicksburg Warren Economic Development Partnership, the expansion will create 60 direct jobs and welcome $40 million in corporate investment. Purchased in 2018, the former Anderson Tully sawmill has undergone extensive upgrading and at full capacity can produce 75 MMBM of Southern Pine lumber annually. When the expansion is complete the mill will be able to produce 180 MMBM annually. The company has signed a turnkey contract with a leading equipment provider. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2020 and is expected to be completed next summer. The upgraded mill would also be positioned to purchase approximately 800,000 tons of timber annually from landowners in the surrounding areas.
