Canfor Announces Reopening of Houston and Polar Mills in B.C.

Canfor Corporation has announced that they will be reopening their Houston B.C. sawmill facility on Monday, June 8th, ending a lengthy shutdown which began in March. The mill will be returning to its 4-days per week schedule – Monday thru Thursday – which it has been operating at since late 2018. Canfor also announced that their Polar mill at Bear Lake north of Prince George will also be resuming operation on June 8th.   The company’s Plateau mill, west of Vanderhoof, which was also closed has also re-opened as has its Isle Pierre mill east of Vanderhoof. But the Isle Pierre mills has re-opened only to clear out its log inventory before closing permanently later this year.
