Statistics Canada (StatCan) on Tuesday (9-5-23) released compiled sawmill production and shipment data for June.
Lumber production decreased 6.6% month-over-month to 3,744.2 thousand cubic meters in June. Year-over-year, sawmill production was down 16.8%
In June, Canadian sawmills shipped 4,169.2 thousand cubic meters of lumber. That is up 0.3% from May but down 8.2% from June 2022.
StatCan notes that these data are subject to revision and are not seasonally adjusted.
