BlueLinx Acquires Oregon-Based Disdero Lumber

BlueLinx, a leading US wholesale distributor of building products, announced the acquisition of Disdero Lumber Co., a specialty wood products distributor based in Clackamas, Oregon, from privately held Tumac Lumber Company.

Founded in 1953, Disdero distributes premium specialty wood products including clear lumber and architectural elements sold into nearly all 50 states. Its materials are used primarily in high-end custom homes, decks, and upscale multifamily and commercial projects.

The aggregate purchase price was about $96 million. Adjusted for an estimated $8 million in expected tax benefits, the net transaction value is roughly $88 million. BlueLinx said the deal was funded with cash on hand and will not materially affect its liquidity or leverage position. The company expects the acquisition to be immediately accretive to earnings.

The move follows BlueLinx’s opening of a new greenfield distribution center in Portland, Oregon, and its earlier purchase of Vandermeer Forest Products in Washington state.
