US Wood Pellet Exports Increase in March

The US exported 1.1 million metric tons of wood pellets in March, up from 608,572.1 metric tons in February and up from 781,576.4 metric tons in March 2025, a Biomass Magazine review (5-5-26) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to approximately 17 countries in March. The top destinations were the UK at 839,864.3 metric tons, followed by Japan at 125,523 metric tons and France at 63,141 metric tons.

The value of US wood pellet exports was $205.24 million in March, up from $116.14 million in February and up from $165.18 million in March 2025.

Total wood pellet exports for the first three months of 2026 reached 2.68 million metric tons at a value of $510.88 million, compared to 2.4 million metric tons valued at $471.06 million during the same period last year.
