US Wood Pellet Exports Increase in April

The US exported 846,693.2 metric tons of wood pellets in April, up from 781,576.4 metric tons in March and from 819,341.5 metric tons in April 2024, a Biomass Magazine review (6-5-25) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to approximately a dozen countries in April. The UK was the top destination for exports at 644,445 metric tons, followed by Japan at 124,731 metric tons and Denmark at 33,147.6 metric tons.

The value of wood pellet exports reached $159.39 million in April, down from $165.18 million the previous month but up from $157.26 million a year earlier.

Total US wood pellet exports for the first four months of 2025 reached 3.25 million metric tons at a value of $630.45 billion, compared to 3.2 million metric tons at a value of $607.29 million during the same period in 2024.
