US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in October

The US exported 814,292.7 metric tons of wood pellets in October 2025, down from 830,469.7 metric tons in September and lower than the 840,011.1 metric tons shipped in October 2024, a Biomass Magazine review (01-08-26) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.

The US exported wood pellets to approximately 16 countries in October. The top destination was the UK at 587,067.1 metric tons, followed by Japan at 96,277 metric tons and the French West Indies at 32,105.2 metric tons.

The value of US wood pellet exports totaled $145.69 million in October, down from $161.09 million in September and $154.98 million in October 2024.

Total US wood pellet exports for the first 10 months of 2025 reached 8.36 million metric tons at a value of $1.6 billion, compared with 8.21 million metric tons valued at $1.53 billion during the same period of 2024.
