US Wood Pellet Exports Decline in June
USDA: US wood pellet exports at 743,158 metric tons in June
The US exported 743,157.7 metric tons of wood pellets in June, down from 853,395.1 metric tons in May but up from 740,326.9 metric tons in June 2024, a Biomass Magazine review (8-5-25) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to approximately 18 countries in June. The UK was the top destination at 646,628.4 metric tons, followed by Japan at 49,283.4 metric tons and France at 32,000 metric tons.
The value of wood pellet exports was $144.43 million in June, down from $159.23 million in the previous month and from $145.28 million a year earlier.
Total wood pellet exports for the first half of 2025 reached 4.85 million metric tons at a value of $934.1 million, compared to 4.82 million metric tons at a value of $910.21 million during the same period last year.
