USDA: Wood pellet exports at 825,270 tons in January
The US exported 825,269.9 metric tons of wood pellets in January, down from 879,332.3 metric tons in December but up from 742,824.6 metric tons in January 2024, a Biomass Magazine review (3-6-25) of data released by the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service shows.
The US exported wood pellets to approximately 15 countries in January. The UK was the top destination at 654,610 metric tons, followed by Denmark at 60,578.2 metric tons and the Netherlands at 31,817.5 metric tons.
The value of wood pellet exports was $157.96 million—down from $162.15 million in December but up from $140.03 million in January 2024.
