On Wednesday, Metsä Wood, part of Metsä Group, announced that it has completed statutory negotiations in Finland and Estonia that were launched on May 13 as part of efforts to address weakened profitability and changes in the operating environment.
The negotiations covered Metsä Wood personnel in both countries and resulted in a reduction of 100 positions. In addition, the company will implement reorganizations of tasks and operations intended to improve operational efficiency and strengthen competitiveness.
As a result of those measures, 72 employees will either have their employment terminated or see their duties changed.
