Machinery Failure Forces Greenply Industries to Pause Production at Its Gujarat, India, MDF Plant

On Thursday, plywood maker Greenply Industries Ltd announced a temporary shutdown of manufacturing operations at the medium-density fiberboard (MDF) plant of its wholly owned subsidiary, Greenply Specialty Panels Private Ltd, CNBC-TV18 reported (12-12-24).

In a regulatory filing, Greenply Industries said, “This is to inform that the manufacturing operations at the MDF plant of the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary i.e. M/s. Greenply Speciality Panels Pvt. Ltd., situated at Village Sherpura, Dist. Vadodara, Gujarat is closed w.e.f. December 11, 2024, due to breakdown of machinery.”

The company has assured stakeholders that the issue is not major and that necessary measures are underway to resolve it, CNBC-TV18 reported. Production at the facility is expected to resume within the next few days.
