Latvijas Finieris Signs Contract With Raute for Technology to Expand Its Vermes, Latvia, Plywood Mill
Raute announces the receipt of an order of EUR 29 million to Latvia
Raute Corporation has announced (4-25-23) that it signed a contract with AS Latvijas Finieris, a leading producer of birch plywood in Europe and Baltic countries, to deliver technology for the expansion of Latvijas Finieris’ Vermes, Latvia, plywood mill. The technology will allow Latvijas Finieris to increase production capacity by 35000 m3.
According to press release, the ordered machinery and equipment is scheduled to be delivered between March 2024 and June 2025. The equipment will be manufactured at Raute’s production units in Lahti and Kajaani, Finland, and in the company’s partnership network.
The expansion, which will be in full operation in 2025, is part of Latvijas Finieris’s strategy to develop and innovate sustainable birch plywood production enabling further processing of special end products.
