Timberlab Launches Salvaged Glulam Cladding for Exposed Steel
Timberlab gives salvaged glulam a new role in mass timber interiors
Timberlab has introduced Resolve GLT, a finish panel made from salvaged glulam that wraps exposed structural steel in mass timber interiors, Woodworking Network reported (9-24-26).
The panels are designed for structural steel columns, beams, and stair assemblies, allowing non-timber elements to visually integrate with surrounding mass timber. Using salvaged glulam also allows reclaimed and nonstructural material to be reused in the built environment.
Resolve GLT is intended for new hybrid mass timber construction as well as renovations and tenant improvements where existing structural steel remains in place. Rather than modifying or replacing the steel, the panels provide a finish layer that creates a more continuous wood appearance.
According to Timberlab Sales Executive David Stallcop, the panels are manufactured to match species commonly used in mass timber construction, including Douglas-fir and Southern pine. FSC sourcing options are also available.
