KEYS TO SUCCESS FOR REMOTE VIRTUAL INSPECTIONS
KEYS TO SUCCESS FOR REMOTE VIRTUAL INSPECTIONS
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way builders and contractors are performing their jobsite activities. The same holds true for how cities, counties and states are conducting jobsite inspections. To allow construction projects to continue without impediment the International Code Council® (ICC) has developed a Remote Virtual Inspections (RVI) list of recommended practices. According to the ICC, RVI provides a solution to help inspectors observe construction and objects that might be inaccessible or in dangerous environments or whereby circumstances or conditions prevent an in-person inspection. The ICC concludes that a clear understanding of the RVI requirements and communications throughout the process by all parties involved is paramount to the completion of successful inspections.
