New US Residential Single-Family Home Sales Climb 12.3% Month-Over-Month in September

The US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development jointly announced on Wednesday (10-25-23) that new residential single-family home sales for September were at a SAAR of 759,000, according to estimates. This is 12.3% above the revised August rate of 676,000 and 33.9% above the September 2022 estimate of 567,000.

The median sales price of new houses sold in September was $418,000. The average sales price was $503.900.

The seasonally adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of September was 435,000. This represents a supply of 6.9 months based on the current rate of sales.
