Median Home Sale Price Experience Largest Increase on Record During Week Ending 4th October

According to Redfin, the Seattle-based real estate brokerage firms, analysis of the Case-Shiller National Home Price Index and MLS data, the median home sale price experienced the largest increase on record the week ending October 4th. Year-over-year the median home sales prices jumped 15%, which exceeds the 14.5% record set in 2005. As of last week, the median home sale price in America was $320,625, compared to $279,090 a year ago. Redfin’s chief economist Daryl Fairweather noted that “Large, expensive, luxury homes are taking up a bigger share of the homes that are selling, which is driving a high growth rate for the median sale price.”
