Housing Starts & Permits Push Higher In October

The U.S. Census Bureau is reporting that privately-owned housing starts in Octobre were at a SAAR of 1,314,000. This is 3.8% above the revised Septembre estimate of 1,266,000 and is 8.5% above the Octobre 2018 rate of 1,211,000. Permits are the forward-looking portion of the report and privately‐owned housing units authorized by building permits in Octobre were at a SAAR of 1,461,00. This is 5% above the revised Septembre rate of 1,391,000 is 14.1% above the Octobre 2018 rate of 1,281,000.
