ADP: Private Sector Employment and Compensation Increase in July

According to the ADP National Employment Report released on Wednesday, private sector employment increased by 44,000 jobs in July. Year-over-year, pay rose 4.4%.

The jobs report and pay insights use ADP’s fine-grained anonymized and aggregated payroll data to provide a representative picture of the private-sector labor market.

Commenting on the report, ADP Chief Economist Nela Richardson said:

“Job-changers are highly sensitive to real-time economic conditions, and their rapid pay growth implies supply constraints in parts of the labor market. Typical hiring patterns, meanwhile, are changing as employers react to shifting macro-economic conditions.”
