Roseburg Forest Products’ California Veneer Plant Resumes Operations After September 2nd Mill Fire
Roseburg Forest Products on Friday (11-11-22) announced that it began full operations of its Weed, California, veneer manufacturing plant on Wednesday (11-9-22), returning 145 team members to full schedules after implementing new safety procedures and keeping city and county leaders informed since the September 2nd mill fire.
According to the press release, Roseburg has updated the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire), Siskiyou Country Office of Emergency Services, the Siskiyou County Planning Department, and the Siskiyou Country Sheriff Department fire facility of the return to full operations.
Since the September 2nd incident, plant staff have continued to work full-time, focusing on overall safety updates—including the installation of new ash-handling equipment—and conducting routine maintenance and planned capital improvements.
