Winnwood Forest Products Announces Sawmill Expansion in Natchez, MS
On Tuesday, officials announced a major expansion by Winnwood Forest Products at its Mississippi River Energy Complex in Natchez following a closed-session meeting with the Adams County Board of Supervisors, The Natchez Democrat reported.
According to Natchez Inc. Executive Director Chandler Russ, Natchez Inc. worked closely with Adams County leadership and Winnwood Forest Products to facilitate the land sale and support the company’s expansion plans.
The project includes the purchase of 17 additional acres and a $2 million capital investment. Winnwood Forest Products said the expansion will create 15 new jobs while retaining 30 existing positions.
The expansion will allow the company to grow its sawmill operations and increase annual production capacity to meet rising market demand.
