West Fraser Moves to Four-Day Work Week at Williams Lake, BC, Sawmill

West Fraser will be reducing production at its Williams Lake, BC, sawmill from five days down to four days for the next two months, The Williams Lake Tribune reported (4-10-25).

“Warmer weather than usual this winter and permitting delays have hampered log deliveries, resulting in a temporary timber supply challenge,” said Joyce Wagenaar, director of communications for West Fraser.

Wagenaar said employees collectively agreed to adjust to a four-day work week for the next eight weeks to address the supply issue.

Wagenaar did not attribute the reduced work week to the ongoing trade dispute.
