Sinclar Group to Reduce Sawmill and Planer Operations at Its Nechako Lumber Mill to a Single Shift

Citing continued uncertainty around an economical log supply, Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd. announced in a press release on Wednesday (8-2-23) that effective October 30th, it would be permanently reducing the operations of its sawmill and planer from two shifts a day to one shift at its Nechako Lumber Co. facility in Vanderhoof, BC.

According to the press release, Nechako Lumber will continue operating two shifts daily until October 27th, after which it will be reduced to one shift. Sinclar’s Premium Pellet operation, also located in Vanderhoof, will continue to run.

Sinclar will work with employees and the communities of Vanderhoof and the Saik’uz First Nation to make the transition as smooth as possible.
