Canfor announces $10.5M expansion in Mobile
New South Lumber Company, a subsidiary of Canfor Southern Pine, plans a $10.5 million expansion at its Mobile, Alabama sawmill, Business Alabama reported (4-2-26).
The project includes installation of a new dual-path continuous dry kiln, which the company said will increase drying capacity, improve efficiency, and support future growth.
Commenting on the project, Canfor Southern Pine President Lee Goodloe said, “This investment reinforces the company’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening its existing workforce and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the operation.”
Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with completion expected by June.
