Louisiana-Pacific Proposes Manufacturing Facility in North Branch, MN

Louisiana-Pacific is proposing construction of a $157 million greenfield manufacturing facility in North Branch, Minnesota, a project that could move forward with support from the state’s Minnesota Forward Fund, Finance & Commerce reported (2-2-26).

The company wants to build a 250,000–350,000-square-foot plant on a five-parcel, 120-acre site in the northeast portion of North Branch’s Interstate Business Park.

According to North Branch Community Development Director Nate Sondrol, construction could begin in 2027 or possibly late 2026. The facility would manufacture pre-finished siding products, including LP’s SmartSide and ExpertFinish siding.

A public hearing tied to Louisiana-Pacific’s Minnesota Forward Fund application is scheduled for February 25 in St. Paul. The company, which already operates a facility in Two Harbors, expects the North Branch project to create about 100 jobs within five years.

In December, the North Branch Economic Development Authority agreed to sell the development site to Louisiana-Pacific for $5.2 million.
