Irving Forest Products to Expand Ashland, ME, Sawmill

Irving Forest Products’ sawmill near Ashland, Maine, is set to expand after the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) approved approximately $42 million in tax credit financing for the project, the Bangor Daily News reported (6-6-26).

Irving Forest Products, a subsidiary of Saint John, New Brunswick-based JD Irving Limited, opened the 68,500-square-foot mill in 2014. The expansion will double production and add about 80 jobs, according to the company.

JD Irving Vice President of Communications Anne McInerney said:

“The expansion will add a second saw line and 68,000 square feet to the mill. The new saw line is designed to process larger and longer logs.”
