A fire occurred at West Fraser’s Blue Ridge Lumber sawmill in Woodlands County, Alberta, on Saturday, January 10, the Whitecourt Star reported (1-13-26). The company said it is still assessing the extent of the damage.
“The mill will resume operations, and the next step will be establishing a timeline for the re-start,” West Fraser told the Star. “Although we don’t have a specific date at this time, we do expect the repair to the facility and the equipment to take a number of months.”
According to a message posted by Woodlands County on social media on Monday, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
