Fire at East Fraser Fiber Sawmill in Quesnel B.C. Causes Extensive Damage

A major fire broke out on June 21, 2025, at the East Fraser Fiber mill in Quesnel, B.C.—a division of the Parallel Lumber Group—prompting the closure of Highway 97 at the Quesnel-Hixon Road intersection. The mill, which processes trim blocks for finger jointing in Williams Lake, was heavily damaged, with large flames and smoke visible from the site. Firefighters from multiple departments responded, and the RCMP was also on scene.
