West Fraser Completes Internal Reorganization of Alberta Sawmills

West Fraser Mills Ltd. has completed an internal corporate reorganization consolidating several Alberta sawmill subsidiaries into a single entity, The Albertan reported (1-1-26).

In a letter sent to vendors in December 2025, the company said Blue Ridge Lumber Inc., Spray Lake Sawmills (1980) Ltd., Crowsnest Forest Products Ltd., Sundre Forest Products Inc., and Manning Forest Products Ltd. will be amalgamated and renamed West Fraser Alberta Wood Products Ltd.

The new company remains a wholly owned subsidiary of West Fraser Mills Ltd. The amalgamation and rebranding took effect at the end of day on December 31, 2025.

Jason Foote, general manager of Sundre Forest Products, said the move did not affect operations. “There’s zero impact to operations. This restructure is more around just administrative stuff. When you get a whole pile of entities, it’s just extra cost you don’t need. It’s more of an accounting exercise, just for simplicity,” Foote told The Albertan.
