Stimson Announces Permanent Curtailment at Forest Grove Mill
Stimson Lumber Company announced plans to permanently curtail operations at it’s Forest Grove mill by 40%. The company cited the increasingly hostile environment for companies operating in rural Oregon as the primary reason for the curtailment. The company pointed to increased costs from recent legislation including Oregon’s “Clean Fuels Tax” and Commercial Activity Tax as factors reducing the mills competitiveness.
