Patterson Lumber Co., Inc. of Galeton, Pennsylvania, has announced that it is closing its hardwood sawmill in Galeton, Pennsylvania, the Wellsboro Gazette reported (4-1-25).
“After nearly 75 years of operating its sawmill in Galeton, Pennsylvania, Patterson Lumber Co., Inc. has decided to cease sawing operations,” the company said.
The lumber operation is a fourth-generation business that started in 1921 and has been at the current location for 50 years.
Owner Karen Chambers said the doors will close for good at an “undetermined date.”
